+ Series/split/parallel connection in one switch
+ Affordable
- Slightly flimsy, but probably lasts in gentle use
- Pole isn't very tall, so might require some wood to be removed from the control cavity for the threads to reach otherside
I bought this to have series/split/parallel switch on my guitar's neck humbucker. Installing it into a hole meant for a pot worked for me, but wasn't ideal.
Construction doesn't feel extremely durable, but not so delicate that it wouldn't handle ordinary use. I can't say how well it would last in actual use, because I decided to remove it after just few hours, as I felt that I don't need both coil split and parallel settings, so I will be replacing it with 2 position switch.
Also bit of a minus is that the switch doesn't come with diagram that shows which poles are active at different positions, which is kinda vital, so I had to find out for myself. The diagram is:
(X = active, O = inactive)
Position 1
X X O
X X O
Position 2
O X X
X X O
Position 3
O X X
O X X
Conclusion: If you need more tonal options for your 4 wire humbucker, or any many other kinds of switching situations, this is a good option as long as you are not too heavy handed with the controls.
