Squier CV 70s Tele Thinline MN NAT

Brilliant quality out of the box, for the price I cant rate this high enough. The neck is like butter, so easy to get around. The guitar is very well balanced. A few review were saying the guitar is neck heavy, this is not true. The tone and volume pots are also excellent, you get the full range, whereas so many volume and tone pots only really start working at around 70% of the turn. Pickups are on the brighter side, almost like a strat tone considering they are humbuckers, but I can get gorgeous warm tones out of them too. Maybe not really for high gain stuff but I dont touch that sorta stuff. Neck Bridge and Middle tones are all completely usable.

I brought it to my luthier for a setup along with another fender MiM after I got it, and this really caught his attention. He was very taken aback by the quality of the guitar and when I asked him what he thought of it after eyeing it up for about 5 minutes, he said quite seriously, that it was "bloody fantastic", so there you have it!

I recived this guitar few days ago and I love it! It's even better then I expected. At first, I read some reviews that said, that the pickups aren't the greatest, so I though that I'll replace them eventually, but they are way better then I expected. The neck is really smooth. The only flaw I could find however, is the F hole cutout, which isn't varnished the best, but I can only be seen if you look at it closely. But that's it. And the guitar itself looks absolutely gorgeus. And I usually play a Fender Strat so the quality really surprised me. Would recommend to anyone!

I didn't expect a quality guitar, just a guitar that I could customize and have some fun with. It looks really cool at least! I had to adjust the bridge, it was not mounted in the correct angle. Frets needed leveling and new crowning etc.

Nut had to be adjusted a few places and sanded down a little bit, but that is normal for all cheap guitars. Neck was mounted in a hurry, so had to remove it and clean the neck pocket. So if you are new to guitar setup, you should go for another guitar, and make sure you test it before you buy. I am really happy with the guitar now, so I think they used decent wood, truss rod works ok, shape of the neck is very nice.

Next I will replace the pickups with some filtertrons and maybe replace the pots and bridge saddles. Tuning machines works actually fine, so no need to replace those yet. Just wanted to contribute to the community here. Still recommend this shop, you got what you pay for as always!

The guitar looks great but it is not for me. The most obvious issue was the nut being much too high. I could have fixed that but:

I didn't like the feel of the neck - too chunky compared to my strat;

The balance between strings seemed inconsistent - please note that although there are slots in the pole pieces these are not height adjustable!!
The pole pieces are not aligned with the strings. This may be a design fault or perhaps a manufacturing defect.

I liked the idea of the precision style split pickups - hum cancelling yet single pole and, apart from the above issues, I liked the sound.
