Well worth the money, great way to upgrade cheap P-bass
I did a full upgrade on my Squier P-bass (affinity). The bass was always quite pleasant to play, but sound was awful.
I replaced the original pickups with these, put cavity shielding with copper tape (Göldo EL900 Profi Shield Screen), replaced all electronics with Montreux 8240 PB Wiring Kit ja put on new strings (Daddario ECB81). And while the bass was stripped down, I replaced nut and did some finishing on fret ends.
Upgrade cost more than the bass guitar it self. After complete setup, I fired it up with amp. The diffrence was beyond belief! Sound was full and rich, with a lots of dynamics.
Some may think is it worth to pay a total of 250¤ to upgrade 200¤ instrument. My opinion is yes, if you have a decent body and neck to work with. Now this cheap Indonesian made bass will stand comparision with any Mexican P-bass guitars and perhaps even more.
