Erittäin "tarkka" plektra
Vainottu 13.07.2020

Accurate and durable pick with a good grip
Maunu 08.05.2024
I first transitioned from a regular 351 style pick to a Jazz III. The small size and slippery surface of Jazz III occasionally caused some problems. I then tried the Dunlop Flow series and I was instantly hooked.

The Dunlop Flow picks slide over the strings effortlessly: you feel no resistance at all and you can play with a super light touch. The sharp tip of the pick ensures that the upper frequencies are strong even when edge-picking.

The Dunlop Flow picks are made from Ultex which is a hard and durable material. I can play with a single Dunlop Flow 1.5mm pick for approx. 30 hours before I have to replace it (due to the wear on the edges). The Ultex material wears out smoothly and the picking experience even improves when the pick has some wear on its edges. For comparison, the durability of delrin and nylon picks is much lower: I have to replace these picks only after 10-15 hours of playing. In addition, the edges of nylon picks tend to become rough when they wear out increasing the resistance between the pick and the strings. This is not the case with ultex picks: the smooth feel remains even with a worn pick.

The thickness of 1.5mm is optimal for my style of playing. The pick is rigid enough but it does not yet exhibit the "chirp" phenomenon when playing.

The grip surface on the pick ensures that the pick does not rotate/move between my fingers - not even when playing with a light touch.

I can warmly recommend the 1.5mm Dunlop Flow pick for any lead/metal guitarist. The pick is perhaps not optimal for funk-style strumming, but it is well-suited for lead playing and metal riffing.

Alright pick
Old Murray 29.11.2018
I gave this pick a try, mostly due to how the grip looked.
I needed something with a bit of grip and while I don't dislike them, seems not enough. The material is great, super durable. The size is somewhere between a normal pick and a jazz pick. the sound is bright on the strings, not dull or muffled like heavier nylon picks (which I got bored of) when you're on the neck pickup. It's shape is a bit awkward at first but you get used to the balance of it. This pick lies somewhere in the middle, in my opinion. It's not exactly "blow you away" nor "totally worthless". It's got some redeeming qualities, mainly the sound. But feel-wise it's just slips the strings too fast. Can't have everything, I guess. I'm sure I'll find a good use for it, especially on my Dobro guitar, which up until now, has sounded great with it.
