THE legendary sound without any compromise !
I watched every single video before I bought this beast.
The pedal has been tested using many amps. (Mesa Roadking II, Peavey XXX, Marshall JVM 410HJS and 50W 2x6L6 Power amp).
My conclusion is that this pedal works better for metal than any of amps listed above.
However, you have to test it with your own amp, because it sounds very different from amp to amp, even when played via fx return.
What surprised me the most is fact, that I was able to get the most refined sound out of pedal when plugged in front of an amp. Just dial back bass on your amp a bit, cause pedal has a tons of low end :).
You can plug pedal directly into power amp and get more dirt if that's what you're after.
This pedal totally kills amps I've played, even without tubes in it.
Diezel VH4 pedal has taught me one thing.
I want his big brother, VH4 head :)

vh4 pedal.......killer......
Sounds amazing...
Very clear overdrive/distortion pedal.You can play for hours and hours...I don't know what...but this pedal got it!
I plug it in front of some amps and in the fx return..this is heaven..my 5150 pedal seems too small...

VH4 Pedal - it's OK...a bit fizzy
I have a Diezel Einstein and I decided i'd like a VH4 channel 3 OD so this pedal fitted the bill. The pedal sounds dreadful through the front of the amp so I ran it through the send/return loop and whilst it sounded ok, it didn't sound any better than my Einstein channel.2... in fact the pedal made it sound more fizzy on both channels... needless to say it's going back... it didn't live up to the hype...
