Good basic mandolin strings
Jökke 16.03.2022
I put these in a cheap Ibanez mandolin and it made it sound much better. I am not qualified to have strong opinions about mandolin strings but I was happy with these. No complaints.

A
good strings.
Tuntematon 17.01.2016
I'm an acoustic guitar player, and haven't had a chance to test any other strings for a mandolin, so the only thing I can report on is the feel I get from them.
The strings seemed to find the tune well, and sound clear to my ear. They seemed even, and the two identical strings seemed identical in feel and sound.
Overall I'm satisfied with the product, and would recommend it.

My favorite Mandolin strings
Tuntematon 24.01.2016
I am playing mandolin professional and i need good strings that last for a while and will give a great and a bright tone. I have A style and F style mandolins and I used many types of strings like : Elixir, Martin, Thomastik, GHS and other. The Daddario EJ74 are my all time favorite. Great quality, crisp and balanced sound. Fits great to my style.
Please take care that there are 2 types of strings. The ones with loop end and those with ball ens (like electric guitar) so order what is fits your instruments.
I will keep use the Daddario EJ74 for my mandolins and highly recommend them!

Great strings, if a bit pricey
Michael S. 639 25.07.2019
So my mando luthier put these on my Weber Gallatin after setting it up and they do sound great. They've been on there for several months now. I use GHS fast fret before and after playing, which I believe has also contributed to their logevity.

They still play smooth, though the tone is of course completely dead. If I were to gig with the strings or record I would change them more often. If and when that becomes the case I will likely look for a cheaper alternative.

But for casual (what's casual? I play 1-2 hours a day) home use and with a little care they remain playable for quite a long time, surprisingly.

Now if only Harley Benton would start producing a cheaper coated alternative.....
