Daddario EXL170BT Balanced Tension

Almost good, but the .045 G-string feels noticeably stiffer than the rest of the set, which is also confirmed by the included tension chart. Good quality, but fails as a balanced tension set, will continue buying single strings instead.

Other than that, consistent D'Addario quality. Soft outer winding, relatively stiff feel, bright but not a zingy as SS strings. Haven't had a dud string in 20 years of playing, so they're doing something right on the QA front.

I've tried a lot of different strings and the last five sets I've bought have been these, so it seems I've found the perfect strings for me and my main bass (Stringray 4 H special). These feel really balanced to play and can handle drop tuning well. Like all strings, these sound the best for the first few days, but unlike many others I've tried, these also sound pretty good for a long time. I tend to change strings when they feel like spaghetti when playing (I pluck very hard), but these still sound good (in mellow dark way) just before changing.
