Excellent, surprising pickup

I bought this pickup to replace the stock pickup on a good telecaster copy; I wanted it to be able to deliver convincing metal tones while retaining some tele twang. This pickup does exactly that, in a very organic way. I mostly play metal in C standard with this guitar.

With high gain settings, it sounds very sharp and focused, more than a humbucker, with less low end. Riffing still sounds very fat. As you drop the gain down or turn down your volume pot it becomes more and more twangy, very tele. The clean tones are very good, as are the metal tones, and anywhere in between. Single notes on the lower strings have this awesome single coil attack while remaining very precise under distortion and not cold.

I really recommend this pickup if you want a slightly different metal tone and if you want versatility. My jamming buddy now also wants a telecaster with it in the bridge to play metal! I highly recommend this pickup.

Amazing pickup. The output is hot on this one but you can clearly hear the telecaster character coming out. If you are after vintage tele sounds this pickups is not for you. Its also better to pair it with a different higher output neck pickup so you have a more balanced middle position on the tele.

Put this baby in my Nashville Tele to make it a HSS kind of config, and it sounds great!

Also er ist laut, man hört aber immer noch ganz klar den SC raus.
Super Saitentrennung, hatte vorher einen Dimarzio Chopper T drin, der ist zwar nicht schlecht aber irgendwie weder Fisch noch Fleisch.Vor allem die Reaktion auf das Volume Poti gefiel mir nicht.
Der Piledriver hängt jetzt viel besser am Gas und die Höhen tauchen schön ab beim zurückdrehen (500KOhm Potis verwenden) sonst wird er zu "Dark").
Er kann zwar Metall ist aber kein reiner Metall Pickup, für alle Rock
Sachen wo es ein bisschen deftiger wird ein echter "Bringer"
