Cool little drum synth

I bought this for lo-fi music production and to jam with guitars.

What I like most about this is the form, looks and the user interface. It is really fun instrument to play with and the roller feature is nice. Knobs and buttons feel like high quality. There is a lot of usable and cool functions.

For the price the sounds are alright. For more serious production, I think they require processing with EQ and compressor. It's nice that the outputs are some what split in groups, but fully separated output option would have been good. But this is understandable compromise.

Highly recommended for lo-fish production, for jamming with other instruments and practicing and sketching ideas.

Nice analog drum machinge

Pros:
- Nice analog sounds
- Easy to use interface
- Groove options, randomisation, presets
- Good price

Cons:
- Slightly affordable feeling plastic enclosure
- Knobs don't seem like the most durable, but no problems so far after few months
- Not the most versatile sonically, but that is to be expected from an analog machine.

Overall I got exactly what I was expecting. Happy with the purchase!

Great sound and interface, but quality control issues in the first units

I absolutely love the sound and the interface, but my first and second unit both had hardware faults.

This was frustrating, but when Arturia heard about my issues, they contacted me immediately and sent me right away a unit they had first tested in the office to make sure I get a functional device ASAP. So points to Arturia for handling that right.

I preordered the Impact immediately when I saw the 1st teaser, so my units were from the very first batch out of the factory. According to Arturia they will step up the QA.

A Future Classic!

Being in the lookout for an analog drum machine I stumbled upon this little beast! The DrumBrute Impact made quite an impression to me, considering the price and the features:

There are 10 clean & punchy analog sounds which sit well in a modern track. The kick and the snares are the most prominent, however the entire drum set sounds tight and well thought out musically.

My most praised features are the "Color" function which transforms each sound, and the FM drum, that acts like a wildcard! Meaning you can transform it to many other sounds. Finally the distortion at the master bus makes the sound gritty and harsh, adding that special "brute" sauce!

Although I'm using it via DAW, I enjoyed playing live, using the countless sequencer features, and building patterns easily! I'm sure it will serve you well in a live gig.

To the cons, I would add the lack of a rimshot, and midi control over the sound parameters! Also a big minus is the lack of a complete list of SysEx messages in the manual.

Nevertheless in regards to it's sound, I think this drum machine is a future classic!
