Great sound and features but a bit of a miss on the attenuator side
Great product, comparable to Universal Audio OX Amp but it comes at less than half the price.
The cab simulation is spot on, it actually sounds exactly to the real cabs I have with the added features of noise gate, reverb scenarios, enhancer and EQ, not much else you can ask. You can also load your own IR's without having the monopoly of two notes only.
Regarding the attenuation, I would have payed even more for an impedance selector (8-16 would have been enough for most) and also an attenuation knob.
The two fixed attenuation levels are a bit of a miss depending on the amps you will be using. If you have a 100w head they are spot on but for a 20-30w, it's a bit of a miss. The first attenuation level is kind of OK but not enough to really crank it at home without disturbing, while the third is just too low.
If it's for a 100w amp I would have no complains since 1st level is OK for band practice while 2nd level for home use is spot on, although as said previously, I would have payed something extra to have more attenuation options, either a knob or at least an intermediate level between the two.
Regarding the tone, I haven't detected any difference in tone while using the attenuator, so my only complain would be the two attenuation levels and the fixed impedance.
All in all, fantastic product for the cab sim and digital features (9/10), but a bit lacking on the attenuation side (7/10).

Practical and still fantastic sounding gear!
I can be quite picky with guitar sound. As a session guitarrist for years I have the chance to record in great studios with all equipment you can imagine. I bought this one because I wanted to have something in my home studio that would give me the chance to use real amp heads. I was excited with the Idea of a hybrid system and buyng this Torpedo captor x 16 was the best thing I bought in years!!! No regrets whatsoever, it delivers a fantastic cab sound letting your real amp head chine like a good recorded/miced cab.
The app is very easy to use, no rocket science needed. Another great feature is that you can store up to cabs and simply not use the app at all. This makes this gear very versatile: If you can spend hours tweeking and having fun, you can! If you just wanna a great sounding cab simulator and have fun playing, that´s also exactly what you need. Long life for the Two tone family, delivering excelence with affordable price tag!

Awesome. Does all that I hoped. (Well the Reverb is a bit bwa)
I bought it to be able to record and also to play at night.
From the guitar and pedalboard I go thru my amps and into a focusrite scarlet 4i4 with 2 XLR to 2 trs cables.
I bought 2 irs from the celestionplus amp and I was so surprised on how good and similar the results where.
Reverb is what it is not great but ok.
I run into ableton Live and have a reverb there. SO its no issue.
I am am very happy with this device.
The only problem is that removing the speaker out cable is a hassle as I have a lot of cables comming out of the device. Power/usb/XLR/speaker in... etc. Not a lot of room

Guitar cabinets that you can carry way too easy.
Out of the box, the quality and the structure is solid as it can be. Easy to carry around and to use. It has loads of features that you can access easily. It comes with a pair o cabinets that are ready to use. I got some paid cabinets and gotta they were more than fair for their price. You can switch through different type of microphones and place them wherever you can get the tone you want. Also having the feature to control it through your phone comes in handy a lot. Good for late night recordings and recording in general.

The best product I have ever purchased.
Coming from a producing perspective, and a guitar player second, I can honestly say this device is the best investment I have ever made, especially if you want to use real tube amps.
I'm not interested in amp modelling.
Note: I use this mostly for recording and potentially for live.
I make only original music and need to record guitars for that.
I'm not rich so I can't afford more than one amp/cab or the space/studio to setup mic'd amps, but I want sounds from real tube amp heads.
So if your like me in any way this is one of the best things you can buy.

Better than i expected . Superb
I use the Captor mainly at home , cause i live in an apartment i could use my amp properly , having to play always at low volume.
Since i purchased the captor that scenario has changed.
I couldn't be happier with my purchase , the cab sim is outstanding .
I would recommend the Captor X for home , studio and live situations.
Super easy to set up and super easy to use with the Two Note remote app.
Keep in mind that this is to be used with a Tube amp ( Head + Cab ) only.
It can be used with a combo but some modifications will need to be done in your combo , which was my case.
That said , i knew that in advance and as i said before im super happy with it

Perfect to play with scorching-hot tubes without killing yourself
That's a great product, possibly a little too expensive but it does exactly what you want... and more and better!
Negative:
- An on/off switch would be beneficial, was that so expensive to add?
- You can't register with iOS app, and the app is a little messy... don't expect to use it to create your setup from scratch, it's more for adjustment on the fly.

I can record my 100 w head in my bedroom silently
everything is ok except mono tracking . I had to unplugged one off output cable for tracking left and after right channel .
But stereo tracking is very satisfy

Great tool but not fantastic
Been using it for a couple of months now and overall is a great tool, but it takes time to get a sound that would satisfy your taste. The issue with this is that there are just too many options, if you like that then is fine.
