Fantastic value for money
This case is so great. The inside is a rigid memory-foam like material covered in velvet that feels very nice and securely holds my bassson (an older Püchner) in place - nothing is going to slide around inside it once it's closed. It might be a bit tight for modern bassoons with larger keywork, but I suspect the memory foam will conform in time. It is made to fit both a regular and a gentleman's cut bassoon, which means if you have a regular bassoon there's some room behind the bell joint: perfectly sized to fit my low A extension.
It has a large room on the back for sheet music (that the back straps can be tucked away into as well), two smaller rooms for accesories, and a very large room on the front that fits both my music stand, harness, large tuner/metronome, and the super nice (real leather) bocal case that comes with the bag (that alone should be worth a third of the price of the bag!).
It's pretty comfortable to wear, although maybe a little on the heavy side, but nothing too bad, and in turn it's super secure and durable. Everything feels really nicely made, with high quality details such as the spring loaded all-metal buckles for the back straps (never seen anything like this on any other bag).
A few negatives:
It has a tendency to tip over when open once you remove the bassoon and the weight of whatever is in the front compartment shifts the balance, so it's best to find a wall or similar to put it against when opening.
There's a small room for accesories (balance hanger, crutch, etc) inside the main compartment which is nice, but when the case is closed the room is not completely sealed, so smaller items can potentially fall out and hit the sides of the bassoon joints. Kind of limits what you want to put in that space.
All in all I can only recommend this bag, especially for the price. It easily competes with alternatives that cost 2 or 3 times as much.
