Does not darken but works it’s magic
Bought this after watching a video on YouTube in which a guitar lover wanted to darken the horrible pau ferro fretboards to a darker colour, to touch it up to a rosewood lookalike.
This will not work for darkening your fretboard, it is supposed to clean and revive older used fingerboards.
However, I put the smear ( it is a little thicker than lemonoil) on two Squier FSR’s as a test and they really look attended to right away.
It does not soak in like lemonoil. You have tot remove it with a cloth after some time. The fretboard comes out dryer after treatment than after applying lemonoil, so for playing purpose that is great.
By the way, do NOT through away your pau ferro necks now, pau ferro will darken whilst playing it for years and years to come and does not need much attending to, so is still a winner veneer. The ugly duck WILL become a swan, just play it!

Lemon Oil
When applied to a tired looking rosewood fingerboard, the transformation was outstanding! It was easy enough to apply with a cloth (although other products I have used in the past had a built in applicator) and after a while I wiped and buffed it to a nice sheen. It has a great fresh lemon smell too.

Anti-aging for fretboards!
My fretboard said thank you after that.

seems to work well
I use this 1 to 2 times a year on my unfinished fretboards.
I've been told that this should be used sparingly and not too often as to not overhydrate your fretboards.

It's oily stuff
To clean y'r fret board...did'nt have real dirty fret boards so used it to make a fret board less dry appealing. It worked for that.
So the stars for cleaning and protection are dummy's...but i had to put them to get this review posted.
