S
Quality and portability - Yamaha mixer
Sakadas 07.11.2018
This is a standard quality mixer, as can be expected from Yamaha gear. Mainly using it for gigs, as personal mixer, and also for rehearsals - I'm a saxophone and woodwind player.

Main pros are: easy usage, portability, size and reliability on field.
Cons: modest user interface, no USB output, single effect on channel, no compressor unit, no pan.

I must admit that sound quality is quite fair, although not excellent, it often lacks dynamics and "presence" in spatial sense, but in given price range it is an excellent choice for budget.

Great sound and really portable
m. jacobs 24.04.2025
One of the smallest mixers you can get with a quality (live) sound to it: Nice (silent) mic preamps (Steinberg interfaces seem to have the same preamps but these are dead silent compared to those!) and the reverbs are pretty nice and useful! Solid metal frontplate with sturdy plastic sides. You can mount the mixer on a microphone stand, perfect on stage. Downsides: Only 2 band EQ (and none on channel 3/4 and 5/6), no panning, no aux (and the fx bus is on or off), but hey, it is so small you have to compromise on features. For a quality mixer for a solo/duo singer/guitarist or as a small submixer on stage this is highly recommended.

D
yamaha mg06x " the mighty midget"
DonaldW 10.07.2015
I only use yamaha mixers previous to the mg06x, I had used the mg82cx for 3 years and
I thought they could not be bettered.
I gig karaoke and have to move my equipment about so size and weight are almost as important as quality.
I have been using an mg06x for six months as a trial, and because of the quality more than anything else I bought another.
It is easy to use, light, small and dynamic for karaoke. faults for me none

T
Excellent small mixer
Tagomago 12.08.2021
I bought this for backup for my Allen Heath mixer for small solo gigs. This is a brilliant mixer for size and weight and has that great Yamaha pristine sound even though the eq is limited. A real bargain for such a small size
