Plug-and-play with phantom power
With its True Diversity antenna technology, automated channel scanning, and rechargeable batteries, the Xvive U35C Microphone Wireless System is one of the quickest ways to turn what was once a wired connection into a wireless one. The set includes a transmitter and receiver, both fitted with XLR connectors – providing a range of up to 30 metres, these plug-in units are designed for condenser microphones or active DI boxes that require an external 12V or 48V phantom power supply, which is provided by the U35C devices themselves. For dynamic microphones, battery-powered condenser microphones, and line-level signals, Xvive also offer the U35 system, identifiable by its red rather than purple rings. Both systems transmit in the almost universally licence-free 5.8GHz band, using 24-bit/48 kHz converters. The six selectable channels means up to six sender–receiver pairs can be used in the same venue at once.
Perfect powered pairing
Plug in, power up, pairing. That's the more or less the entire setup process for the Xvive U35C Microphone Wireless System. A small switch allows users to select the phantom power level required – and then it's connect the transmitter to the audio source and plug the receiver into a mixer input, for instance. A free frequency can be found either automatically via the auto scan function or selected manually. Transmission takes place between 5730 and 5844 MHz. To ensure a stable connection, performers should hold the mic itself, rather than covering the transmitter with their hand. The system can transmit frequencies from 20Hz to 20kHz across a dynamic range of 110dB, with latency of 5ms. Multi-stage status LEDs provide information about connections, wireless signal quality, and battery charge level: After two and a half hours of charging using the supplied cable, both transmitter and receiver will run for between three and seven hours, depending on how much phantom power is required.

The Xvive U35C Microphone Wireless System could scarcely be easier to use, making it particularly approachable for newcomers. More importantly, it gives singers complete freedom of movement on stage – even allowing them to dive off stage if the audience demands it! And their bandmates no longer have to worry about cables underfoot either, with signals from DI boxed or miked-up instruments like trumpets, saxophones, or strings handled with the same audio quality as vocals. Similarly, presenters, comedians, and MCs can focus entirely on their presentation and, when required, join the audience or pass the mic around. Stage techs and event organisers also stand to benefit from faster setup times. About Xvive Audio
Xvive Audio officially entered the market in 2012 with its compact U2 wireless guitar system. Since then, the company has also been involved in the development of wireless microphone technology. Its catalogue also includes effects pedals, such as the Signature Series, which were developed in partnership with guitarist Thomas Blug. The products are designed by an American team, based in Pasadena, California, which is composed of musicians and engineers and draws on decades of professional experience. Its lead designer, Howard Davies, was previously employed at Electro Harmonix and Pigtronix, among others. Xvive Audio's goal is to create products that deliver exceptional sound and build quality, while remaining affordable for any musician.
Instant upgrade
The Xvive U35C Microphone Wireless System is an instant upgrade on a whole range of wired audio signal paths. It's a boon in home studios, reducing cables between the interface and the mic setup. But the system's scalability also means that as many as half a dozen paired sets might be employed to bridge the distance from an entire ensemble on stage to individual inputs on a mixing console, without cables crossing walkways and fire exits. If the audience is breaking line-of-sight between the units, the connection can be optimised by using a shorter cable from the mixer's output to position the lightweight receiver on a wall or stage truss. However it's used, the U35C devices also offer pro-grade True Diversity wireless performance, switching automatically between the two discrete antennas to find the strongest signal.
