The Warwick Black Labels are just the strings for some grooving metal sounds. Combined with a Bass with active Humbuckers these strings provide a very strong sound with strong mid-range, alot of bass and some high-range.

The sound could be best described with a harley davidson's roar , but can also produce some decent mellow sounds, depending on your finger-style playing. The slap sounds aren't very convincing, the strings lack a decent portion of high-range for that.

For it's price of around 30 bucks these strings are a good alternatie solution to higher priced DR strings, but offer about the same sound.

O
Warwick Bass? Get Warwick Strings

I've tried D'Addario, Elixir, Rotosound, Adagio (UK), Dunlop, and DR Strings. None of them sounded great, and all of these had a low B that sounded "meh".

I even tried Dunlop's Paolo Gregoletto (Trivium) signature set, which I'm pretty sure Paolo himself used on his Warwicks before he moved to Kiesel. Unfortunately, those Dunlops also sounded meh for me.

Until I tried these Warwick strings.

Every single string had a stupidly aggressive growl - INCLUDING THE LOW B.

I have since purchased 6 more, which should last me a good while. I will not be spending any money on any other brand of strings for my Warwick Thumb anymore.

Bear in mind these Black Labels are almost half the price of the other aformentioned brands.

Now if only Warwick would make coated strings so they last longer!

Great Strings

I've used warwick black label strings since the late 90s back when they were yellow label.

great tension and the tapered B string allows for a clearer B string tone, I cant play 5 without a tapered B any more.
