in line with expectations
After a long flugelhorn practice search tour, I decided to use the Wallace practice dampener because it was quite convincing for me, especially in terms of intonation. Regardless of whether high, medium or deep register - the intonation changes hardly, if at all, against the undamped instrument.
The gameplay is also very different. The resistance, which in some cases increases shockingly in other practice dampers, remains nearly the same with the Wallace damper. This corresponds exactly to the expectations you get when you read the product description ("game features almost as in the open game").
In addition, the handling of the horn hardly changes, since the damper is relatively light. When I use a straight damper made of aluminum, for example, I get more problems than with this practice dampener.
The dampers are almost a bit noisy, which is why I only give three stars at sound - altogether it is taste.
A small mistake, however, is: With me, the damper sits so in the horn, that he seals the tube just so; There might be problems with relatively narrow wing horns.
In addition, the damper is relatively bulky, which could become problematic, for example, during frequent transportation.
Conclusion: A great practice dampener, whose small deficiencies are compensated by the great intonation and the free play. I'm definitely motivated to try the Wallace trumpet players.
