A strikingly simple gig bag

Front view of the Thomann Classic Eco guitar gig bag

When price takes priority, the Thomann Classic Gig Bag Eco is a convenient choice, offering a straightforward solution for those who need a basic guitar gig bag without unnecessary extras. It provides essential protection for classical guitars, helping shield instruments from everyday bumps and minor impacts, while its backpack straps make carrying more comfortable during daily commutes or occasional journeys. The integrated accessory compartment in turns keeps useful items such as teaching materials, cables, and tuners safe and within easy reach. Designed to fit all standard classical guitar sizes, including concert, flamenco, and other Spanish-style models in 4/4 or 7/8 sizes, this gig bag will also fit 000-style acoustic guitars with a neck joint at the 12th fret, offering more versatility for different needs.

All the essentials, none of the frills

In the lowest price range, practicality often takes precedence over luxury, and in this regard, the Thomann Classic Guitar Gig Bag Eco represents notable value. Designed for storage, it reliably protects the instrument against scratches and dirt, all within a compact shape where the integrated accessory compartmant remains flush and the 3mm padding is discreet yet functional, while the adjustable nylon backpack straps help maintain the bag's slim profile and minimise bulk. This arrangement makes the Guitar Gigbag Eco convenient to carry over short distances; however, for regular transport or extended journeys, especially by bike, more expensive standard gig bags with thicker padding and broader straps may prove a more suitable - and more comfortable - choice.

For newcomers and storage

The Thomann Classic Eco Guitar Gig Bag is a straightforward addition to any player's basic kit, and will appeal to beginners who prefer a simple, no-frills model and collectors who need protection for instruments awaiting proper cases. Particularly for owners of budget guitars, this Eco gig bag presents a logical solution to safeguard their instrument without significant investment. Its slim profile helps keep out dust and UV rays, provides a measure of protection against scratches and minor impacts, and makes it suitable for safe storage at home or in a studio. However, a more heavily padded option might be a wiser choice for those who need to transport their guitar regularly, such as students attending lessons or musicians on the move.

About Thomann Accessories

Thomann-brand products enjoy an excellent reputation, which also extends to the field of accessories. Hundreds of products from a wide range of different categories are built to the highest levels of quality and offer an excellent price/performance ratio. The use of high-quality and durable materials and the implementation of sophisticated features usually reserved for products in considerably higher price segments make Thomann accessories go-to products in many instances.

Model series comparison

Thomann's Eco Gig Bags are developed with affordability in mind, and have established themselves as the most accessible entry point among instrument gig bags. While they include practical features such as an accessory compartment and backpack straps, the padding remains minimal, which makes them a basic choice for those on a budget. The Standard series sits above this, offering 20mm of padding, broader backpack straps, and two larger outer compartments for carrying extra accessories. Moving up, the Deluxe model introduces a more refined approach to accessory pocket design and lends a touch of sophistication, while the Elite range marks a further progression, blending a more polished appearance with enhanced padding and dedicated neck support to help keep the instrument secure, while the backpack straps can be tucked away discreetly behind zips. The Premium range increases the padding thickness to 30mm and adds faux leather for added durability, and at the top of the lineup, the Voyager models are fully suited to touring, and the professional SafeCase range bridges the gap between a gig bag and a hard case, adding versatility and protection.

Good Value for Money

I got this bag to store my Harley Benton CLP-15M 00-12 Parlor sized Acoustic in. A big thank you to Thomann’s customer service for recommending this bag for my particular guitar model

Pros: The bag itself is well stitched and of good quality.
It is suitable for storing a guitar at home and it protects the instrument from dust as well as minor bumps or scratches.
The pouch on the front is useful.
The straps and carry handle enable the bag to be carried on one’s back or in the hand.
It would be suitable for transporting an instrument in a car or on public transport but it is definitely not padded enough for flying or any other transport where a lot of impact would be involved.

Cons: The padding is not very thick and I personally wouldn’t travel anywhere with it because of this.

In conclusion it’s a good bag for the price, particularly for storing a guitar at home.

edit- mine has a "stag" label - although its labeled as eco bag in my orders - was bought as part of a starter set. (looks very silimar but maybe not actually the same product)

its full size classical guitar adequately ,
zip seems decent quality
has a front zipped flat type pocket for accesories and sheet music.
very water resitant if not waterproof,

images may appear like it is bulky or padded material although thin material, offers no impact protection.
very light.

decent quality item, useful or purpose.
perfectly suitable for light travel with a budget guitar.

Good enough

Bought this together with a classical guitar for a friend.

This is a budget product, so do not expect a luxurious item. The padding is not very thick, but it HAS a padding and the bag is sturdy enough to protect a guitar well.

Also, it doesnt have multitudes of pockets to store this and that, so you should look for another way to store your picks (like in your wallet). The pocket that IS there is big enough to store a small amount of notes and your footstool.

The zippers work well, and I have the impression that they will continue to do so in the future. Using the bag to transport the guitar on your back also works well.
