Overall I like this.

First of all, this is very good fish skin riq for the price.
I have been using fish skin riq from Emin Percussion but the skin broke.
So I bought this riq.

My first impression was the jingle makes buzz easily.
Even when I play in soft position, the jingles make buzz especially when I play dum and this riq cannot be very quiet in soft position.
I was not getting used to this type of jingles but these riqs with buzzy jingles exist and depends of type of music, these could fit better.
But aside the buzz, the sound quality of jingle is not very sophisticated in my impression.

The weight is good, not super light but light enough for 22 inch tunable riq.
Easy to handle.

Tuning system is very helpful for fish skin riq which is more influenced by humidity than synthetic ones.
When I had only untunable fish skin riq, it was sometimes impossible to play in concert because of the humidity of the venue but with tuning system, this problem is solved.
But as other reviewer also mentioned, it's better to soften the tuning after tightening in humid place to avoid the skin to break.

This is not the best fish skin riq I have ever played but now I think if I replace jingles to what I like, this riq could be very nice.

Very pleasantly surprised

Riqs this good almost never come this cheap. I was stunned by just how well it handles, especially for the pricepoint.

I'd advise players in humid places to try to limit any tight mechanical tuning to the duration of a gig/practice, as a mechanically-tightened fish skin will over-tighten if you dry it. Careful with the heat of stage lights too. Electric blanket first, then use the tuning system if that fails.

I have not made that mistake, but I've seen it from others who play more expensive fishskin riqs and end up having to get repair jobs done.

Treat this riq well and it will outperform models of much greater cost. It's my main riq these days, and I suspect it will be for a pretty long time.
