Dark caxixi without much definition

I took a chance on this caxixi - the writeup said loud and I wanted something with a lot of punch.

What I got was a shaker without much difference in tone between the basket shake and the kalabash accent - both are quite dark and similarly pitched, meaning you don't get a great deal of life in the rhythm you're playing. It might work well as a second caxixi with a smaller one for accents, but as it is I won't be using this one much on its own.

The quality of the build is okay though - it seems stronger than the Meinl ones, for instance.

Lovely Medium Sized Shaker

This was larger than I expected, and noisier. I feel like for the size it could have more balls inside it for a longer shake. Great for making more sound, not so great when you want subtly. I think it's a really lovely piece of handmade craft.
