TAD 12AX7/ECC83 Redbase Tube

Zur Auswahl standen/stehen die TAD 12AX7 RedBase, EHX 12AX7EH, Tung-Sol 12AX7/ECC83, Sovtek 12AX7LPS.
Im Vergleich für einen BK-Butler Clone war die TAD-Röhre leider die "dünnste, kälteste und leiseste". Leise soll wohl "wenig Gain" bedeuteten. Etwas "enttäuscht" hat aber auch die TungSol, welche auch eher verhalten in der Verstärkung ist und nicht sonderlich "warm" und irgendwie nicht wirklich "klar/transparent". Sovtek war wie erwartet "in your face"...mit ordentlich Druck und Gain-Reserven trotzdem Klanglich ausgewogen. Für meine Zwecke allerdings etwas zu viel.
Gewonnen hat dann doch der Klassiker von EHX. Einfach mega ausgewogen in Gain, Dynamik und Wärme. Der BK-Butler singt und ist trotzdem gut durchsetzungsfähig im Mix.
Verarbeitung und Nebengeräusche finde ich bei allen Kandidaten relativ gleichwertig, je nach Gainbereich.
Alle Wertungen sind natürlich subjektiv und kommen wahrscheinlich auch sehr auf den EInsatzzweck drauf an.
Noch ein Tip zum Schluss...Röhren sind Gebrauchsgegenstände und können nicht mit 30Tage Moneyback zurückgesendet werden ;-)

I have a Fender blues junior IV and a Koch Jupiter 45, both using 12AX7/ECC83 lamps.
The lamps sound fine, and I agree with the description on the Thomann website. Lamps are a bit like guitar strings, they loose some highs and lows when used so new lamps always should sound better, even if you replace them with the same make and type of lamp. Anyway, good product for your money and both amps are like new again.
The installation went ok on the Blues Junior.
On the Koch, the socket of the lamp is about 3cm below the surface of the amp protection box. Here I had to take the amp out because the pins on these lamps are very soft and bend with the slihtest movement. I can imagine that these can break of easely if you don't handle them with care.
The delivery and handling of my order was perfect as always with Thomann. One remark for Thomann: They came in a box the was to big. As a result they where not well wrapped and could fly around in this box. Wrapping up lamps for transport need a bit more attention!

J’ai relampé 4 préamps gtr / multieffects vintages de mes collections (Digitech, Rocktron…) que j’ai révisés et entretiens régulièrement.
J’ai utilisé ce modèle et marque de tube à vide pour remplacer mes dernières et vieillissantes mises à niveau (EH, Ruby, sovtek, et autres)
Testées dans plusieurs styles et configurations en répétition et en studio.
Pour qui cherche la finesse et la clarté, surtout en configuration dual et réglage du gain de chaque tube à part dans les presets, c’est lumineux.
Net changement, les sons clairs sont transparents et précis, les saturations sont nickels et réagissent plus finement à l’EQ, pas brouillons ni trop acérées.
Tubes pas loin de la hi-fi de par leur clarté, sans bruits de fond ou hum.
Pour un ampli préamp d’amplis GTR je ne sais pas, j’ai toujours utilisé du Sovtek modèles d’origine preconisé.
Je pense que ces tubes sont surtout utilisables pour du rack préamp studio ou scène avec amp de puissance ou direct console avec simu HP (à l’ancienne) mais à tester.
Pour l’instant je valide.
Pour la longévité on verra dans quelques mois.
