A striking resemblance

With its two COB warm-white LEDs, the Stairville DuoBlind 200 WW is designed to recreate the response and characteristic afterglow of traditional blinders, delivering a performance with a striking resemblance to that of classic halogen lighting. Operating within a very accessible price range, it focuses on providing this specific functionality without unnecessary complexity, making it an appealing option for a wide variety of lighting applications. The selectable colour temperature, adjustable between 2800K and 3200K, keeps its firmly within the warm white spectrum, while the fixture is optimised for intense light output and fast response times. Its two front-facing lamps project light into the audience with a beam angle of 39.5° and also lend themselves well to strobe-style effects – so while the DuoBlind may not be a fixture that's intended to cover every possible application, it absolutely excels as a dedicated and highly effective blinderqw34.

Versatile control

Depending on the requirements of the lighting setup, the unit can be operated via DMX in 1, 2, 4, or 6-channel mode, offering a high degree of flexibility for different applications. Equipped with 5-pin DMX connections, it's ready for modern DMX infrastructures without the need for additional adapters, while configuration and adjustment of parameters can be carried out quickly using the built-in display and control buttons. The Stairville DuoBlind 200 WW also supports RDM, making it possible to identify and manage the fixture directly within the network, as well as featuring Power Twist input and output connections for convenient power linking. Four selectable dimming curves are available, with individually adjustable dimming speeds, and because the COB LEDs can be controlled independently, the fixture offers greater creative possibilities than one might think at first glance. This flexibility really comes into its own when the DuoBlind is combined with other lighting units, enabling users to compose dynamic and varied lighting scenes with ease.

For true professionals

The Stairville DuoBlind 200 WW is designed to meet the needs of a wide range of users, from lighting technicians and mobile DJs to entertainers who value efficient handling during transport, setup, and dismantling. Its compact dimensions of 305x155x154mm and lightweight construction of just 2.7kg make it particularly practical for mobile applications, while the option to link multiple units together ensures it is equally capable in professional environments. Optional vertical and horizontal connectors further expand its range of installation configurations, allowing the fixture to adapt to a variety of staging requirements. At the same time, the intuitive menu structure and straightforward operation make it accessible to users with less technical experience, so it's suitable for applications that range from trade fair stands and product presentations to touring rigs in clubs and bars, right up to permanent installations in event and hospitality venues.

About Stairville

Since it was introduced in 1994, Thomann's in-house brand Stairville has been a permanent fixture in the store's product range. The brand primarily focuses on the field of stage lighting in general, and its products include spotlights, moving lights, and theatre lighting as well as smoke machines, electronic control systems, and every other accessory you can think of. Thomann constantly has around 1,600 Stairville products on offer, and the figures speak for themselves: Statistically, one in every fifteen Thomann customers owns at least one Stairville product. Incidentally, the name "Stairville" is also a catchy English translation of "Treppendorf", the town that Thomann calls home.

Farewell to halogen bulbs

The gradual withdrawal of halogen lamps from the market has largely been driven by their poor energy efficiency, as more than 90 per cent of the energy they consume is converted into heat rather than usable light. Although existing stock can still be used in many cases, the transition towards more efficient lighting technologies has firmly established LEDs as the standard for modern applications. One of the qualities long associated with halogen lamps was their distinctive response behaviour and warm dimming characteristics, features that manufacturers have worked hard to recreate with LED technology despite the technical challenges involved. In this context, the Stairville DuoBlind 200 WW demonstrates how closely these traditional lighting characteristics can now be replicated within an affordable fixture, bringing a familiar visual experience to users while benefiting from the efficiency and practicality of modern LED design.
