Need it as I don't have USB C on PC

If needed more the 2 channels on your USB C-less computer this will solve missing USB C problem. That was main reason i have buy this. It is split USB cable that need 1 USB for power and second for data, that is also stated on cables. Works!
Price could be 10€ less but it is USA company so yeah we have to pay. I read someone use it to power mixpre from external battery, my external battery have USB C connector with high drain so i didn't use it for that, but also possible.

Nützlich aber teuer

Leider benötigte ich dieses USB-C Y-Kabel, um meinen Sound Devices Mixpre 6 II mit einer USB Akkubank betreiben zu können, weil ein USB Ausgang an der Bank nicht ausreicht, um vier Kanäle mit Phantomspeisung betreiben zu können. Mit diesem Kabel funktioniert es einwandfrei. Aber es ist schon ziemlich teuer, wie anderes Zubehör von Sound Devices auch.

Expected more for the money

As with all Sound Devices accessories it is _expensive_! But, I needed it since I don't have a laptop with USB-C. It does what it's supposed to. The workmanship is not great, though. It feels a bit clumsily made and the USB-C connector wiggles a somewhat. (The protruding bit is not firmly set into the cast rubber/plastic.) Also, the USB-C connector housing "bottoms out" before the connector which makes it difficult to know whether it is properly set in the device. So far I haven't had any problems, but who knows what will happen after it wears a bit.

Y-Kabel für MixPre-3 II liefert Betriebsstrom auch vom älterem PC

Das Microsoft Surface Studio (2016, ohne USB-C) ist funktionell unpassend ausgestattet, um ein MixPre-3 II Gerät per mitgelieferten Kabel mit Strom zu versorgen und während Online Meetings Audio mittels Datenkabel durchzuschleusen.

Das "Y"-Kabel von Sound Devices MX-USBY ist auf der Computerseite mit 2 x USB 3.0 ausgestattet.
DATA und POWER und liefern so nachträglich die gewünschten Superkräfte
(Displayanzeige im MixPre-3 II oben rechts:
die Farbindikator wechselt von "Saft-reicht-noch-nicht"-orange auf grün).

Ich hatte den MixPre-3 II schon zum Rückversand an Thomann vorgemerkt. Mit diesem hinterher bestellten Spezialkabel in Y-Form funktioniert alles einfach prima im Zusammenspiel mit dem schon älteren PC.

Zum Preis: zwei mal schlucken - doch kaufen - und lächeln!
