A perfect mic for Zoom meetings
When doing large group meetings on Zoom, I found that using a U87 and Rodecaster Pro 11 and then listening back to the recordings, that my voice sounded rather quiet and characterless when compared to the others who were using the inbuilt mics in their laptops. On investigation it appears that Zoom is engineered to favour laptop low quality mics and will downgrade pro level equipment. So, I set out to find a quality mic which would oversome those Zoom limitations. After experimenting with various mics, the one which gave the highest quality by far was the Shure MV7i - so that it what I am now using, and, pleased to say, that my voice on Zoom recordings now sounds the best of the lot. So, for me, it's the Shure MV7i all the way - perfection for my needs.
