A bit of work to fit but worth it
Tim from UK 14.10.2017
These were to upgrade my Squire Affinity JB 5 string which was a present for me. Thomann were great as they were able to source the fifth machine head with the same orientation as the other four. I must say, that it took some modification to the headstock to get them fitted so if the holes are different on your bass you may wish to get these professionally fitted. The bass now has new Machine heads, new Pickups, new pre amp and new Pickguard. A bit of a project for me but I really like doing this to a cheap bass to get the upgrade

Works as expected

Bought for a project upgrade bass, very easy to install and very sturdy despite being so light and made of aluminium and carbon fibre. Would definitley purchase these again

I find them to be really good looking. I got them installed without any major surprises.
On the down side, two of the tuners have a bit too much friction when turning them. It is very hard to describe the feeling, and just marginally bothering

An absolute pain to install by yourself
Nickojr 29.10.2025
The pegs mean you cannot lay the tuning pegs flat to the headstock to make accurate measurements, which makes installing them very awkward. It is very difficult mark correctly where the pilot holes should be, and I personally have made a mess of my headstock and had to buy wood filler and start again. I probably should have been more patient and made more of a plan for installing them, but either way it's not a very user friendly design. I really think Schaller should have a guide on the best way to install these.

Aside from the installation they are expensive light weight tuners that look nice and get the job done.
