I hate digital amps but not this one

06.09.2016
I watched many reviews of this amp before buying it. I really hate the fizz that passes for gain in non-valve amps. But this one has none of it, I don't know how.

It does Fender almost as well as Fender does it. Great bottom end and sparkling cleans. Not *quite* the chime that Fender has but very close. If you want the bottom end make sure it's on a floor or hard surface. The loss of bass is large otherwise.

I love it. I play blues and need no pedals at all with this amp. I had my usual array plugged in at first and then discarded them all one by one. Now I have none in the chain and the amp is just sweet on its own.

For the record I have a Marshall JVM, a Mesa Boogie 5:50 and a Hughes and Kettner 18. A good array of valve amps and this Cube still sounds great to me. I use it all the time for practice as it's easier than waiting on standby for valves to warm up and cool down. Also the sound is good at all settings from 0.5 to 30W.

A beauty and cheap too!

Only skeptical, then enthusiastic

Dizzy Krissi, 31.12.2016
Who would have thought that I would ever use a transistor / modeling amp live in the Bluesrock context and would be so happy.
I've been playing the guitar for 30 years, and have tried everything, but modeling and co have never worked on the stage before, when it comes to producing a powerful sound that is used in the band context.
This has changed since yesterday, because the Blues-Cube has passed its test of excellence bravely.
How am I supposed to sound an official blues (rock) sound? Very simple: crisp clean-sound with a clean-breakup at moderate volume. My previous live amps were a Hot Rod Deluxe, Blues Junior, Fender Twin, Palmer FAT50, Laney IRT Studio.
All good amps, but either too loud, inconsistent, prone or too heavy.
The Blues-Cube offers a crisp, assertive clean sound and reacts like a tube amplifier. The difference can not be heard. The built-in boost I do not use, since it is neither controllable, nor my sonic ideas.
The clean sound is the sonic basis and my pedalboard with a Marshall Governor, Love pedal Stevie Mod, Diabolo Gain Plus and a Cry baby Wahwah provides the rest of the sounds.
The amp can be operated with 0.5, 5, 15 and 30 watts. Surprisingly, the 15 watt setting to the sound of a medium-sized room with about 150 people loosely (and we are certainly no quiet band). The sound is stable at every volume, powerful and rattling nothing. My effect board was adopted by the amp super - since nothing sounded fizzelig or digital.
My initial skepticism has given way to pure enthusiasm. An adult amp in the size of an exercise combo with enough clean headroom for almost every location. My bandmates were also enthusiastic.

Here is my conclusion:

Features: 1 channel, bright switch (tone), boost, treble, bass, middle, reverb, gain, master, line out, footswitch (boost), recording out (USB), phones out.

+ Powerful "fender-like" clean-sound with the behavior of a tube amplifier at every volume, which is super-effective in the band context
+ 0.5 / 5/15/30 watts adjustable (see no need for 60 or 80 watts)
+ Takes overdrive pedals very well
+ Good digital sound, which is unobtrusively in the sound picture
+ Line-out, which does not mute the speaker (prefer live, however, usually a microphone amp)
+ Light weight

- Boost not controllable and sound technically I would have wanted instead a good crunch sound - taste
- small workmanship at the Tolex, which was not well fitted into the corners.
- no effect loop
