Wireless microphone system for iOS
The Rode Wireless Micro Lightning is a wireless microphone system designed for iOS content creators who want to capture high-quality audio for their videos. It includes two transmitters with built-in microphones, which can be easily attached to clothing using either the integrated clip or the magnetic mount. The receiver connects directly to an iPhone or iPad via its Lightning port, giving presenters complete freedom of movement without cables – all this with a range of up to 100 metres. Thanks to its compact size, this microphone system is the ideal companion for all mobile AV productions, from vlogs and livestreams to interviews and tutorials.
Crystal-clear recordings from every direction
Each transmitter features a miniature condenser capsule with an omnidirectional pickup pattern, capturing sound evenly from all directions to ensure every voice is recorded clearly, no matter where it comes from. To avoid unwanted noise, an integrated windscreen reduces plosive sounds, while the two fur windshields can be attached to prevent wind interference. Rode's intelligent GainAssist technology automatically adjusts input levels, delivering perfectly balanced recordings – whether indoors or outdoors.
Spontaneous use with long battery life
Whether it's for regular vlogging or impromptu interviews, the Rode Wireless Micro Lightning is quick and easy to set up via plug-and-play, delivering optimal audio capture every time. Compatible with all devices running iOS 14 and later, each transmitter offers seven hours of battery life. When stored in the supplied charging case, users gain two additional full charges – for a total operating time of up to 21 hours. The case's built-in battery recharges via USB-C, and a red LED indicates when battery levels drop below 10%.
About Rode
Founded in Sydney, Australia in 1990, Rode is a specialist in high-quality studio microphones. With its very first in-house, completely Australian-built model, the NT2 large-diaphragm microphone, the company created a classic which is still produced in its current and enhanced version, the NT2-A. An extensive range of studio and live microphones has also been added, regularly updated, and expanded over the years. These new additions include a variety of professional microphones which are designed for video and mobile applications and can be connected directly to SLR cameras or smartphones.
Capture it all with Rode Capture
The Rode Capture app for iOS unlocks the system's full potential, allowing users to fine-tune recordings by adjusting output levels or dimming LED brightness. The app also offers Split and Merge modes: Merge mode combines both transmitters into left and right channels for ready-to-use videos, while Split mode assigns each transmitter to its own channel for more flexible post-production editing. Firmware updates via the app keep the system up to date.
