Bought two sets out of curiosity and placed one set on my Yamaha A3R .It’s true that the A and E don’t sound as zingy ( if that makes sense) but they somehow shine through for a very balanced and silky classical sound .I’m going to put the next set on my Lowden .If your looking for something to play Deep South blues ,I don’t think you would want them ,for soft finger picking these are fantastic.,just takes getting use to.

I've been through 10 or more sets of acoustic guitar strings and these are the ones for me. The extra thickness compared to the light set help bring my guitar into equilibrium. What a luxurious tone/feeling i get from these strings. No sympathetic buzzes like I got from other brands, it was either the G string making weird sympathetic buzzing sounds, or the D/A string, I get none of that with this set. Soon as I put them on everything came together in harmony. I'm chasing the Nick Drake tone, I'll have to see how they die in a few months, but I've got high hopes already. WOW. Martin strings were good too though, but i couldn't be bothered to make a new saddle to raise action due to the lighter gauge. Who doesn't want Italian silk in thier strings? And that lovely picture of a lady in the pack. La bella 12-56 are glorious.

T
Great strings!

I love these strings, I was worried about the quality due to other comments, but they have proven to be very good, no issues and they do not wear out as quickly as others have said. The sound is very pleasant, string tension is lighter, low E string sounds solid as well. In general a pleasant warm sound, much less zing compared to standard 80-20. They squeak a bit, so you have to take that into consideration if you slide your fingers a lot. Great for both pick and finger style. Much better sound and feel compared to the Ernie Ball Silk & Steels. La Bella offers heavy gauge, which is great and not an option with many other brands. The 12 gauge I bought felt like gauge 13 of D'addario XS, although tension is lower of course. Used on my Taylor GS Mini and I did not have to adjust the truss rod (no fret buzz). If you like to experiment with strings, give them a go!
