OK but not very stable

DrMattF, 27.02.2016
I have a 3 tier system on castor, enabling me to move the keyboards for access to the back of my 19" racks.

It has a Moog Voyager on the top tier next to an MS20 mini, the middle tier holds a Pro8 and 3 monger fingers. On the bottom is a Korg SV-1. So it's got quite a weight to hold!

I'm always worried when moving the stand from the wall that it's going to fall over. It's quite wobbly and doesn't have any cross braces for stability. I even looked to see if I could purchase a Jasper set of braces separately, but unfortunately not. On occasion I have to pull the legs together to pull the bottom horizontal bars back into place correctly. Everytime I move it the whole thing leans to one side and I have to twist the castors to try to get it level again. I'm waiting for the day it all falls on my head ;)

It's done the job, and has been in my studio for a few years now, but makes me very nervous! If they had a sturdier construction with a cross brace or 2 it would have scored higher.

Regret the lost money

Arsxxi, 09.05.2017
The idea of ??buying third party stands Jaspers came to replace my RTX and Quiklok stands in X and then win the place below to put my devices in rack and win a limited place. I chose the models 4R-120B & 3R-140B and once received in Paris (Thomann delivery service as always, the Top) sent them back to my studio, small but in full nature, very inspiring for the creation .
Arrived there is a cold shower that awaits me, and here are the points to remember:
Unpacking. The tiny notice that does not correspond to the model chosen, no spare part, nor a single screw in case of breakdown. He missed 2 nuts (practice to find them in the countryside). Poor presentiment.
The height of the lower part is limited for the lowest keyboard, one can not be comfortable as before the piano, very poor calculations of the engineer (it never did the Piano surely). Without calculating the human knee height you are then offered, stay on the knee-like rapper typing the keyboard with a finger. Impressive. No way to mount keyboard, because there is no room for other keyboards and it is not modular (nothing modular, see below).
Tube quality is mediocre. Aluminum too thin (nothing to do with Roland drums stands for example) which I cut, in order to adjust their width, with a simple kitchen knife. Tube surface is too slippery and does not cling well to clamps. My keyboards have different width (and depth) then, to refine the stand by trying to make it semi-modular, I cut the long tubes in half in the center by putting inside what I found in the country cellar, -the tube of my old vacuum cleaner, much better in metallo quality from elsewhere. So I could adjust stand width.
At Jaspers, there are no fixers to ensure the stability of their construction. I had to drill the tubes and put the folding nails in order to troubleshoot the constructive genius signed by Jaspers.
The allowable weight for the superposed keyboards is announced at 15kg max. Ben, but that is my Minimoog Model D that remains at the limit under the risk of falling on my head. Who calculated these inappropriate weights? Because the generalized weights for serious synths are, for example- Yamaha SY77, Oberheim OB12, Korg Z1? Each of at least 17 kg! These Jasper engineers never approached the musicians and their instruments before developing their product? No, it's not that the nano synths and planks that musicians use to announce you cruel reality! Why not ask Musicians before building for them?
Without horizontal fasteners on the tubes, the keyboards inevitably slip under their weight and arrive in perfectly twisted position on each level which does not add admiration neither to the general public nor especially to the lucky owner of Jaspers stand.
It is really unstable also because of construction itself: the superposed keyboards are placed only on the tube face in A causing a diving effect, when your whole stand, being overloaded begins to tilt towards you DANGEROUSLY. Normally low tubes should be heavier (pfff, not the case, and why do) to stabilize this sordid creation. I put sand in low tubes to troubleshoot stability as you can, discovering at the same time that the casters are of cheap plastic type furniture 3 sous without resin nor the screws. What stability can be talked about? Everything moves. I finally hung the back of the stand with the cord to the ripe to not have the worst surprises, but how to do the scene for example? What musician will hang his stand? An idea ? This is the direct question to Jaspers Engineering C °.
The arms of 40 and 60cm? Are not modulable either. Only one hole in the middle, not even three. I looked for the drill to confine these arms. Hello DIY. This is highly frustrating. The price required for a pair of these arms is pretty 34 euros though ... The depths of synths being different, how do you adjust their position to see anyway the panels of your instruments? I exaggerate? Since the panels are virtually hidden from seen in Jaspers version.
No, but it is a pure and also un-natural catastrophe.
Summarizing: the production of this brand is an Absolute FIASCO and in engineering and quality. The prices are very high, on the other hand, without being justified. For me it is my money and my nerves that are lost but also the cheating and non-respect of the clientel.
If I could ask for the refund! Or do these stands end their lives in the garbage? Or will it help me to put some pots and pans on top of it? (Too risky though). Looked, I gave Full constructive ideas to Jaspers house, can be in thanks and EN counterpart it refunds me my ¤597.70 anyway? J? Offers free ideas for improvement of their stands, is precious?
We'll see there.
In any case in current version I strongly discourages to buy the Jaspers stands, at least that their construction would not be reviewed from A to Z, the quality would be compliant ("made in Germany" - by whom?) And the price Adjusted to reality.
I ask Thomann to advance this note to Jaspers and demand that their production conform to the requirements of professional musicians. AND well marked: "amateur stand for light keyboards and boards". Thank you.
