Nice, but not quite there
I bought the wonderful Höfner HI-VB-SB bass and, of course, wanted to try the Höfner strings indicated for my bass. I bought this pack but also a set of Pyramid Gold flatwounds that I kept reading great things about. I first set up the bass for the Höfner strings; they felt nice but really thin, requiring either a very light touch or maybe a really high action - and I wasn't prepared to go that way. So after an hour I swaped the strings for the other set. I must say the default (roundwound) strings felt suprisingly nice. I kept them and I'm not excluding trying them again in the futuree.
