I’ve been using the cheap 10–52s from Harley Benton for about 3 years now, and honestly, they’re really solid for the price.
I decided to try the “high quality” ones thinking they’d be an upgrade, but… not really. For the first couple of days they were great — the sound felt more “alive” and overall better. Then on day three the B string snapped. Three days in!
I replaced it with one from the cheap set, but about two weeks later the D string broke too. Gave them another shot with a full new set, and again, strings started breaking in less than two weeks.
Not sure if I just got a bad batch or if that’s normal with these so-called “high quality” strings, but I don’t think I’ll be buying them again. For now, I’ll stick with the cheap Harley Bentons until I change my mind.
