Great solid-state representation of the now legendary VH4
The pedal plays great, depending on your amp it might sound better either in the front or in the FX loop as a preamp, try both and see how your amp reacts to each one.
You get channels 3 and 4 from the VH-4 amp and they really sound great when i plugged it into a marshall tube amp, I mostly stick on the 3rd channel because i hardly ever play leads anymore but that 4th channel has enormous amount of gain on tap for leads.
The only thing that's "bad" about it is the loud click switches, i like the soft ones more, but that's hardly a complaint.

Finally a realistic high gain pedal!
I'd been searching forever to find a pedal that delivers realistic high gain or metal sounds. This preamp/pedal nails it! It doesn't sound fake or fuzzy in a bad way ..at all. You can use it as a preamp into an amp or fx loop or in front of the amp like a typical pedal, which is what I do. I'm really happy I purchased it.
It would be nice if each channel had its own eq but that's a small detail.
In the end, it gives me a true high gain amp sound in a pedal by one of the most desired and respected names in amplifier production.

VH4-2 Rulz
Best Hi-gain pedal ever. Great for punk, metal, hard rock. But can also get quality classic rock sounds. Lots of tonal options. 2 channels. Great if used in front of the amp but amazing if used through the effect loop (return). Only con is if you want tu use with multiple pedals but connecting VH4-2 through effects loop and every other pedal through the front of the amp, you are gonna need a switcher pedal and lots of cables to run it because VH4-2 runs as an independent preamp.
