Acoustic, K+K pure mini tracks horribly, sent back
Have just sent this back. Was trying to replace a working TC Nether Octaver (25€) with something more capable, but the Boss is a disaster.
The 'lowest' mode has slapback-style latency, the polyphonic mode is very quiet and creates noise over all the range that it apparently excludes, including "ghost-bass" on the five or six semitones above the cutoff frequency. The +1 octave is completely unusable because of the noise it introduces. If I 'solo' that octave, anywhere on the fretboard, I get unrecognisable mess.
So I'm back with my 25€ Nether pedal, which tracks so well you can forget it's there in single-note playing or riffs with strong fundamentals. Same cables, power supply, chain position, guitar, everything.
I'm pretty sure these problems are related to the soundboard transducers as opposed to under-saddle piezos, soudnhole pickups or, obviously, electric guitars.
Have bought a lot of things from Thomann and never reviewed before, and should say that there are a lot more negative reports out there on forums than there are here in these reviews or in the many video reviews.
I did achieve a newfound appreciation for my cheap octaver!
