Good headphone for the right application

Mad, 22.11.2009
Overall, a good headphone for special applications.

External sound insulation is good, especially in the frequency ranges that are painful. The headphones go through as an ear protection. The deeper the frequency the worse the attenuation. The steam acts in both directions (from outside to inside and from outside to inside); Which means you can use the headphones with neat headphones without disturbing the environment.

The DT-770 M is certainly not the best-sounding headphones in the world, but quite neat. A bit bass-heavy and with limited detail resolution. So no high-end and as a monitor for the recording is not optimal. I would still call the sound pleasant.

The wearing comfort is very good especially for a closed headphone. Do not press and the weight does not disturb either. Heat build-up can not be avoided with the closed design. Sealed is tight.

The processing is stable, but affects me but old-fashioned and not noble. I was particularly annoyed by the small plates printed with Beyerdynamics on the earpieces. With me both have loosened quite quickly at the edges and stood with it. When I put the headphones I then cut into the finger. I removed the sheets.

The package includes a padded bag. This considerably increases the survival time of the headphone and cable during transport.

Cable length is practical. The cable is equipped with a volume slider. Practically, but one must also think that is there. Otherwise one wonders why today everything is so quiet. At the end is a 3.5 mm jack to which a (supplied) 6.3 mm adapter can be screwed. A very good solution so the adapter can not get lost or slip out.

What would I use it for?
- wherever it is loud and you have to hear something about headphones
- To practice E-Drums, Bass, Guitar, ...
- always when you do not want to disturb others
- As a monitor for musicians when recording
- As a live monitor for drums (also for others if they dare to stand on the stage with such an eumel)
- As FOH or monitor mix headphones
- If drums or the guitars are just too loud and I forgot my hearing protection

For what I would not use:
- At home on the stereo
- As the (only) assessment tool for the mix of recordings

Good sound with high wearing comfort

DanielN, 22.10.2009
And sufficient outside damping.

Hi, I'm a drummer and have a metronome + Mp3 player in my exercise room which I am on a sound-proofed headphones and after clicking and Mp3 then practice.

I had so far the Vic Firth headphones Sih 1 and was basically also satisfied. Until one day, I got spectacle wearers, got a new pair of glasses and found in the exercise room that the Vic Firth Sih headphones pressed too much on the temples. This was really very uncomfortable.

So you have to get something new. In-Ear was not an option for the practice room, so I ordered the Beyerdynamic DT 770 M. See, as a spectacle, this headphone is really great and also the sound is slightly better for my feeling than the Vic Firth Sih.

The outside noise is also excellent (despite spectacles). Practical is the included bag. I have been the listener since 2006 and so far still no wobbler or other wear can determine. I'm very satisfied.
