Push opens the next chapter

Ableton Push 3 continues the evolution of the instrument that has become central to so many producers' Ableton Live workflows. Retaining the familiar 8x8 pad matrix and display, Push 3 expands its role beyond controller into a deeply expressive instrument and creative hub. At its core is a fully MPE enabled pad grid that responds independently to pressure, slides, and pitch movement on every note, unlocking new dimensions of performance while maintaining seamless control of Live. Navigation is faster thanks to the jog wheel, tactile raised ridge buttons, and Session Screen, which mirrors Live's clip grid directly on the device. Used with a computer, Push 3 delivers the most integrated Ableton Live experience yet, with the option to upgrade to the full Push 3 Standalone version through the official upgrade kit.

Deeper Live integration

Ableton Push 3 takes integration with Live further than ever. The Session Screen displays the clip grid directly on the hardware, complete with cursor and jog wheel navigation for browsing, launching clips, and arranging performances. Encoders and the touch strip provide hands-on control of pitch, velocity, note length, probability, and device parameters, while dedicated controls streamline editing, sequencing, and mixing. Features such as Follow Actions, Macro Variations, and Rhythm Generator make it easier to create evolving performances and generate new musical ideas without interrupting the workflow. The redesigned pad grid excels in both Note and Drum modes, while the raised ridge buttons improve tactile feedback and precision. Connectivity includes USB-C for computer connection and power, a USB-A host port for class compliant MIDI devices, and 2 pedal inputs which can be switched to CV/Gate outputs to control modular systems.

Complete track control

The Ableton Push 3 serves a wide spectrum of musicians. Advanced users will enjoy deep hardware control over sequencing, device editing, mixing, and performance (even with external instruments). Beginners can benefit from a focused, physical approach to composing, arranging and performing their music, without constantly relying on a mouse or screen. Max for Live devices and modular systems. Link Audio allows streaming multiple audio tracks from Link compatible devices and apps, directly to Push. New creative tools such as Live's built in stem separation (available with Live Suite) make it possible to separate songs into vocals, drums, bass and other elements without breaking the flow. Sessions prepared in Live, Note or Move translate directly to Push, ready to be reworked or performed with the added depth of MPE pads for bending chords, shaping melodies, or fine-tuning percussion hits.

About Ableton

Ableton was founded in 1999 in Berlin, by former Native Instruments employees Gerhard Behles and Bernd Roggendorf. Ableton AG now employs around 350 people worldwide and has since expanded to Los Angeles and Tokyo. Ableton is famous for “Live”, their flagship software DAW/sequencer. Live is a market-leading application in the field of music production. Live is performance-oriented, allows real-time processing of samples and synthesizers, instrument-like flexibility for improvisation on stage and also provides renowned music production tools. Ableton is famous and used worldwide for its creative possibilities, in the both sound design and music production.

Expressive by design

In use, Push 3 feels less like a traditional controller and more like a direct extension of Live itself. The MPE-enabled pads capture velocity, pressure, and multidirectional gestures, transforming the grid into an expressive performance surface capable of nuanced articulation and dynamic control. The encoders, touch strip, and mapped function buttons provide immediate access to instruments, effects, mixer channels, and performance tools, while pedal inputs allow hands-free operation for recording, patch changes, and effects control. A wide range of MIDI controllers can be connected via the USB-A input and their built-in mappings for Live will be recognized by Push. Max for Live devices can be browsed and manipulated directly from the hardware, keeping creative focus within the instrument. Combining the ability to upgrade to Standalone with ongoing firmware updates that continue to add new features and workflow enhancements, Ableton Push 3 is designed to grow alongside its users and adapt to their evolving creative demands.
