Bough it after trying a vintage one (80's ?) from a friend, compared them side by side and the sound is the same.

To me it's all about sound quality, I wanted an Overdrive for Blues/Rock, Country/Rock, Classic Rock - clean, very well defined, easy to use and transparent to the guitar's character - with my telecaster, stratocaster and Les Paul guitars I could have exactly what I wanted, the best I have tried so far !
It will always stay in my pedal board - I used it with JCM800 & Fender Supersonic amps, it worked like a charm.

Strong construction, features are appropriate, it does extremely well what I need with a lovely sound quality. Not for extreme drive, perfect for classic tones!

I'm extremely pleased with it !!!

Excelente pedal, adapta-se a qualquer estilo, country, rock, hard rock, ou usar como um simples pedal de boost. Não altera as características da tua guitarra e do amplificador e é muito reactivo ao botão de volume da guitarra !

Versatile (bass cut switch), without the mid hump usually present on a TS9.

Works very well adding body to a bridge pickup or bass to a very bright amp.

I'd tried a few fat bluesdriver type overdrives and never quiet liked the grainy texture, so was looking for something smoother. This is why I like this pedal and it is firmly velcroed to my pedal board. The ODR-1 is really effective as a fat boost in the low gain but it can also be used for higher gain depending on your preference. At first I wasn't completely sure because it was a bit muddy, but once I used the BC internal switch I was convinced. The switch is easy to access and it gives a much better degree of clarity, especially when stacked with other drive/distortion pedals. The volume level is really easy to set in a chain, this is not always the case but the ODR does a great job.
I play a strat into a FHRD. It's a little bit larger than the standard pedal, so if you are going to squeeze it on a board you may need to adjust the other furniture :-)
