Ok, the looper sounds good and clear although the drums are a bit robotic but passable.

Problems start with fiddly operation, having to unplug, press buttons and restart to set start modes is a joke and not worth the hassle anyway.

The tap tempo works ok but the tempo detection is, quite frankly, appalling. Play a slow blues, it sets a frantic rhythm that is impossible to play to and you cannot then adjust. There is no other method of setting the tempo. Why they couldn't just allow the BPM to be set manually, I do not know.
As for the "timestretch" feature? Don't bother; it's painful.
Not being able to save whilst playing is a pain and you have to stop to change memory banks, even in the preset select mode. In fact, you seem to have to press stop to carry out most tasks.
Also very annoying that you can't seem to start an overdub in the middle of a bar. I wish the drum machine could be turned off to allow some tempo free looping but it can't.

None of this is helped by a very poor, rather baffling manual download.

It's a shame as, when you can get it doing what you want it sounds good and is solidly built, although it is nowhere near good enough for live use.

All in all, for the price it is very disappointing and is likely to be returned.

Great communication from Thomann and great delivery. Very pleased with the design and sounds this little pedal has. It is light weight and in a grey metallic finish. Super easy to use and store loops on. I love the way you can turn on and off the loop and drums. The fact you can speed up the tempo without it losing rhythm is fantastic. Don't delay, buy today. The reviews before I brought this wasn't wrong......its a great pedal for a beginner or professional. I love it!

Nice affordable drum machine and looper

Bought this for training with its drum machine and because of the potential stereo output (to separate drum from loop/guitar signal): it does the job perfectly with 10 genres with 10 styles each. The looper part is also quite nice to record loops for work. Really nice for this price and for a beginner setup.
The main problem with this pedal is: it's seems impossible (or I didn't find how) to delete a track using the pedal only, without using the software. It's a blocking problem for me because the software is not available for Linux OS which I use. Downgrading the total note for this reason.

Le premier modèle était déjà bien,cumulant un looper,une section rythmique,et Une possibilité de cumuler ou pas les trois fonctions. Le nouveau X2 est plus ergonomique,plus complet. L'arrêt est plus facile,un seul appui sur le footswitch droit au lieu de deux.Reglage possible de la vitesse de lecture, inexistant auparavant.Section rythmique enrichie de onze presets au lieu de deux par genre.Et possibilité de stockage de quatorze emplacements.Reglage de volume du looper et du rythme avec chacun un bouton dédié. Conclusion : Plus complète,plus facilement utilisable.Un seul léger bémol: La traduction de la notice ,pas très claire ! Mais avec les tutos sur le net on arrive à programmer les modes décomptes ou pas ainsi que l'enregistrement automatique. Je ne reviendrai pas au premier modèle.Certe le prix passe de 88 à 149 €,mais on oublie vite la différence .A acheter les yeux fermés !
