Just Great.

This is an expensive instrument, but even with the diminishing returns factor, you definitely get what you pay for. Acoustically, the tone and resonance are out of this world. Plugged in… it is the best natural sounding pick-up system I have ever heard.. I amplified it with a Bose S1 Pro.. it needed absolutely no EQ to sound amazing.. just applied a little high pass to cut a bit of body rumble. Amazing.
I was surprised about this because the video on the Thomann page portrays it as “quacky”, which is the tone you always try to EQ out of an acoustic pick-up system. I would suggest that Thomann take this video down, it doesn’t do the instrument justice.
The only thing I was a little bit disappointed about.. for my liking, I found the action a little high, making it not very comfortable to play, especially further up the neck. However, I read that this is normal with Martins to suit different players. It is easier to lower the action than it is to raise it coming out of the factory. I guess I will send to a Luthier to grind down the saddle a bit and lower the action similar to my other gigging acoustics.
That said, still very happy with my purchase.
