The quality of this product is good.
Having only used the unit on one gig so far I can say I wasn't disappointed. This is not very high praise considering the profit margins waves is collecting.

The IONIC 16 has only one soundgrid network port. Waves has people sweating profusely extracting every last penny you are willing to pay, yet they cannot find common ground with the engineers who clearly didn't intend for this product to be nearly 4 THOUSAN??===D EUROS!&? Redundancy is fundamental on any network. BAD!

Now for the ugly. I just don't like the fancy dancing LED-s on the front and the paint gets scratched even if you stare hard enough.

Overall I like the product, but I just cannot recommend it to normal human beings who don't make their living mixing music.

In Verbindung mit dem LV1 System von Waves kann ich nur positives über die neue Stagebox Serie mit Waves Signatur Preamps sagen. Der Sound im normalen Modus ist super klar und hochauflösend und erinnert etwas an die Digico Preamps der SD Serie. Ein sehr großer Dynamikumfang und 32bit Auflösung sprechen für sich. Der HMX Modus erinnert etwas an Midas Preamps der blauen DL Serie mit ordentlich Charakter je nachdem wie stark man den Preamp anfährt. Es wurde ein gesundes Maß an Modeling gefunden der natürlich wirkt und nicht aufgesetzt. Die XLR/Klinken Combibuchsen sind wertig verarbeitet und auch die beiden integrierten Headphone Preamps sind Kraftvoll, rauscharm und mit ausreichend Headroom versehen.

Die Specs sind ja ersichtlich und muss ich hier nicht weiter erläutern.

Einziger Kritikpunkt den ich erwähnen muss: nur ein Netzwerkanschluss für SG. Auch wenn es andere Hersteller gibt die ebenfalls nur einen Anschluss haben, wäre das noch eine guter Zusatz gewesen.

All in all, tolles Design trifft auf noch besseren Klang. Klare Kaufempfehlung mit super Preis-/ Leistungsverhältnis. Wie sich die neuen Stageboxen im rauen Tour Alltag und Langzeittest schlagen werden bleibt abzuwarten.
