I had to come up with a replacement for my old classical guitar since it needed (yet more) extensive repairs and I stumbled upon this item. The wood used also got my attention - acacia - which is solid, light and dense, perfect for the balanced sound i'm after.
I changed the original strings with Extra Heavy Tension (my favorite) from D'Adarrio since the default ones were, well, default sounding. Now the guitar sounds perfect, timid low end with clear mids and trebbles.
Construction is solid with no evident defects or downsides + the intonation is great all around the fretboard (remarcable aspect). Love the laser engraved soundhole - simple and clean.
The open pore finish is also awesome and I believe it will age well in time, giving the guitar a personal touch.
I am very happy with my purchase and I recommend it to any musician, novice or well experienced.
Pro's:
- solid, well balanced guitar (imho good for both rhythm and soloing)
- natural open pore finish is nice to the touch
- construction was made with care and attention
- carefully finished frets (no scratching)
- good intonation all around the fretboard
- compensated G string saddle
- interesting through-body string anchoring system (APC). you need to make a knot at the end of the string, pull it through and over the saddle.
Con's:
- none (yay!)
