Definitely an alt mouthpiece for me, as it is a very dark sounding, but it is quite beautiful and relatively free blowing when paired with the right reed. It does have more back-pressure than some metal mouthpieces even with the open tip of the (G) but it's not in anyway a real issue. I have a JodyJazz DV Chi and This as my two main mouthpieces and I'm over the moon at the tonal range achievable with this combo.
