Ortega RCE125MMSN

I wanted to return to classical/Spanish guitar, but without having to negotiate too wide a neck or purchase a very pricey instrument. With a nut width of 48mm, the Ortega RCE125MMSN is ideal for a player used to narrower electric and acoustic guitar widths. The unamplified guitar volume is a little low, but not too much, and the bass and treble strings are well balanced and produce an attractive sound.
As to amplification, I was unsure if my trusty Roland Microcube would work with the guitar, but it did using the microphone setting with a touch of reverb (distortion settings understandably are not so pleasant). I also invested in the two-piece Harley Benton AirBorne 2.4Ghz wireless connector (rechargeable) to replace the usual cable, and it works perfectly.
The guitar brand name is Spanish, the design German and the manufacture, as so often these days, is Chinese. The cutaway and the Magus Pro pickup with tuner are nice touches, the 9-volt battery compartment beside the output socket is well designed, while the mahogany finish gives a very attractive appearance overall. A soft but quite secure gig bag is also supplied with the product. To conclude, the guitar's playability and sound quality are excellent for my purposes, as I perform in a broad range of styles.

Nachdem ich zuerst von einer Yamaha ziemlich enttäuscht wurde, fiel meine Wahl auf diese Ortega. Die Halsbreite von 48mm hatte es mir bereits angetan. Bei dem doch sehr niedrigen Preis waren meine Erwartungen nicht allzu hoch, und ein Feilenset für den Sattel war bereits bestellt.
Zu meiner großen Freude kam die Gitarre per UPS zwei Tage früher als zunächst angekündigt. Die Gitarre kommt in einer überraschend stabilen Gigbag daher. Sogar eine 9V-Batterie liegt bei. Wow. Da könnte sich so manch einer was abgucken.
Die Gitarre hat einen guten Klang. Nachdem ich die Sattelkerben ca. 1mm tiefer gefeilt, und den Steg um ca. 2mm Höhe erleichtert hatte, wurde sie auch richtig gut bespielbar. Das eingebaute Stimmgerät tut seinen Job und ist ohne Lesebrille erkennbar (normal brauche ich eine 2,5-Brille).
Ein Kritikpunkt: die Saiten. Die tiefe E-Saite riss bereits beim ersten Stimmen. Zum Glück hatte ich noch einen Satz rumliegen.
Ein weiterer Kritikpunkt: Sie ist Made in China. Mich würde echt mal interessieren, wieviel exakt diese Gitarre Made in EU kosten würde.

Agréablement surpris par la qualité de fabrication ainsi que par la sonorité et le confort de jeu. Malgré la faible largeur de caisse, la guitare sonne de manière très acceptable. Une fois branchée sur ampli ou directe console, le son est tout à fait surprenant. L'électronique est bien conçu et efficace.
Certes, ce n'est pas une étoile filante non plus, mais pour le prix....
Je recommande à tous ceux qui souhaitent s'adonner à la classique et se produire efficacement même pour un prix modique.
