MXR M 236 Super Badass Variac Fuzz

It is a band of gypsies fuzz with a bias and a tone control. Very dynamic. The sound is thick at lower to unity volumes, and the tone control cannot bring back the lost high frequencies. In short it may sound a bit woofy.
The unit has tons of output, so it is very easy to overdrive the amp by using the unit volume knob alone. But YMMV depending on the amp headroom.
The unit got brighter at very high volumes, and given the huge amount of output it is not practical to leave the volume of the pedal close to max and use the volume control of your guitar, because the unit has too much output for a good control on the guitar. Less is more in this case.
Keep in mind that "band of gypsies" fuzz is an approximation of what the pedal was done by MXR, since the pedal Jimmy used has never been recovered from theft/loss.
To conclude, it is a very versatile unit, with many possibilities but sound is always subjective.

On dirait que les contrôles ont été poussés jusqu'à 11 : la plage de gain est énorme et exploitable d'un bout à l'autre, le volume (output) peut à lui seul pousser votre ampli dans ses retranchements, et le "variac" permet une variété impressionnante de saturations. Seul le tone est là pour rendre le son moins agressif en atténuant les aigus.

Tous ces potentiomètres sont assez interactifs, surtout le variac et le gain. À 5V, le son est plus crade et plus compressé, surtout si l'on monte le gain, ça va avoir tendance à écraser le son, la pédale ne pouvant fournir assez d'énergie (effet pile morte). En revanche, à 15V, le son est beaucoup plus ouvert et dynamique. Entre les deux, ça donne un son fuzz plus traditionnel, avec dans tous les cas un bon "sustain" et une bonne réactivité au potard de volume de la guitare pour retrouver un son plus propre et moins compressé.

Je dirai, pour finir, qu'il faut prendre un peu le temps de tester différents réglages et qu'il n'est pas nécessaire d'aller dans les extrêmes pour trouver ceux qui nous conviennent.

1.)der Tonregler lässt sich sehr Feinfühlig Regeln
2.)der OUTPUT knob hatt eine riesige Reserve(Da wirds Richtig Laut)
3.)der GAIN knob regelt den Fuzzanteil von schön klar bis richtig schmutzig
Der Knaller ist aber der VARIACknopf.:
Hier kann man von Satten Overdrive(Richtung 15Volt drehen)bis zu
'hendrix'Fuzz(Richtung 5Volt drehen) und alles dazwischen einpegeln.
Alles in allen Wirklich ein sehr gutes wohlklingendes Fuzz.
Im Gegensatz zu Overdrivepedalen muss sich halt dran gewöhnen,Ich hab's schon
und es nicht bereut.
