I've connected the Mutec REF 10 master clock to drive my two SOtM sNH-10G ethernet switches before the Auralic Aries G2.1 network streamer in my Hi-Fi system. The stock power cable was replaced by an audiophile Shunyata Delta. The BNC cables are pretty modest for the task, Damar & Hagen 21-3257-1135-1 0.6 m 75 ohm, and the sound improvement over the SOtM sCLK-EX integrated clock generator wasn't spectacular but the sound became a bit more realistic and more detailed.
After one year I've decided to upgrade the stock fuses (cheap 2x 1A slow blow, 5 x 20 mm) with a pair of Synergistic Research Purple 1.25A (they were already burned-in by the previous owner), just because I wouldn't want to burn them for being at the very limit ... they're 150 EUR each! It took about 2 days of warming for the Mutec to get at a somehow stable state. When I began the critical listening my jaw dropped and I had a big smile on my face.
Everything was greatly improved: the bass was tighter, more detailed and less boomy but with a lot of slam ... the depth of the scene became huge ... the instrument separation, airiness and stereo imaging got absolutely fantastic. And all this huge improvements occurred with 20 EUR clock signal cables that are seriously limiting the sound quality. Next step: monocrystal silver BNC cables from Albedo.
