The drum look nice, it's big enough, and the sound is great, at the edges the sound is more deep and powerful and in the middle more mild, it sound good and sometime very good to me. So far I don't see the use for the tunable parts, if you weaken them it barely make a sound, when you tight them it make a great sound so maybe you can go straight for the cheaper one without tunable parts, but who know maybe the tune will come in handy some day if you want this. In my chase the tunable nails come with a bit of rust, when I bring up the problem Thomann, offer me to replace it or give me some money back, but I don't do it because I like it as it is, so they have a great customer service. And an advice, if you buy this model don't tight to hard on the screw of the tunable parts they will press against the frame, and in my chase the frame crack in one corner, so the screw it's not going in, it just press against the opposite metal spot, so dont press to much.
All in all for this price this is a great drum and I would recommand it to buy it if you want something simple and cheap.

Great drum with a beautiful sound!

The drum looks very attractive and the sound is very warm and deep. I can't play it well, as I am just learning, but it gives great pleasure to hold it and to tap a few basic rhythms on it. Definitely good value for money. I am very happy with the purchase. Thank you!

Rien à redire pour ce tambour. Sonorité agréable tant avec les doigts qu'avec une baguette, la possibilité de réglage est un vrai plus. Rapport qualité / prix imbattable. Le seul point "faible" est le look "bricolo" de la baguette mais c'est un détail.

Ich habe die stimmbare 18" Frame Drum im Oktober bestellt. Wegen der derzeit üblichen Lieferengpässe musste ich etwas Geduld aufbringen, aber die hat sich gelohnt: die Rahmentrommel ist wirklich klasse! Ein schöner satter Bass und kontrastreiche hohe Töne. Die Obertöne gefallen mir auch sehr gut. Sie klingt schon fast so lange nach wie ein Gong (sorry, ich übertreibe etwas).
Ein Plus ist natürlich die Möglichkeit, die Trommel stimmen zu können. Damit kann man entweder klimatische Schwankungen ausgleichen, die sich auf das Naturfell auswirken, oder aber die Stimmung mit den begleitenden Instrumenten abstimmen. Die Stimmmechanik ist in Ordnung und funktioniert reibungslos. Die Stimmschrauben stoßen auf ins Holz eingelassene Metallblättchen als Widerstand. Eine oder zwei Stimmschrauben stoßen nicht ganz mittig auf das entsprechende Metallplättchen, was aber nicht weiter stört und bei dem Preis absolut tolerabel ist.
Einziger Wehrmutstropfen: es fanden sich ein paar Spritzer des transparenten Leims auf dem Trommelfell, mit dem das Fell auf den Rahmen geleimt wurde. Aber das beeinflusst den Klang offensichtlich nicht.
Deshalb nur 4 Sterne für die Verarbeitung.
Alles in Allem ist es ein tolles Instrument. Klanglich auf jeden Fall eine Bereicherung meines Percussion-Sets.
