A 7 at best

Bought this guitar because I was very excited about the craftsmanship of the ESP LTD VP-7 Baritone Black Metal and an older EC257. Basically this guitar is nothing above or better than the Ec 257, the only difference is the locking tuners and DiMarzio D-Activator-7. I can't see how Ibanez can justify its price tag since its nothing out of the ordinary. Basically you are paying for the shape and a generic gigbag. It has a nice feeling neck and a good weight, around 3.90 kg. Althought, the nut was installed pretty wonky but it does the job. I don't think I will be keeping it. Too expensive and is no better than an upgraded EC257, well done Ibanez :))

The metal riff machine
George_K 27.02.2023
I was initially attracted to it by its beautiful and unique design. I love the black mate finish and the minimalistic appearance of the fretboard. It was stuck in my mind for months and I am pleased about this purchase.

The guitar has all the specs I was looking for (7 strings, ebony fretboard, neck-through-body construction). I was blown away by the comfort and playability of the neck, and by the acoustic resonance even when I play unplugged.

The pickups have a great tone and provide awesome sound both in high gain and clean stuff. They can support low tunings very well, giving clarity and energy to the sound.

Coming from an Epiphone SG, I feel this Iceman is a bit heavier but still comfortable when you play standing up. It has a little bit of neck dive, which can be resolved by using a leather strap. I liked the fact that it came in a gigbag, although I would love to see it in a hard case.

Lastly, a comment on the scale. I don't care too much about it. Perhaps, 27" could be the proper scale for a 7-string guitar, but this one sounds amazing having a 25" scale.

Overall, a great instrument both in construction quality and sound!

Absolute beast

I’m a big fan of icemans and this one is something i was looking for for quite a long time. It does sound amazing, the quality is just 12/10, it’s also properly set up from the factory. The only caveat is a bit of neck dive, but I have fixed that with wide leather guitar strap. And finally it looks sooo evil, which I believe also affects mood while playing.

Gute Metalgitarre
NoMro 03.08.2023

+ Kam sehr gut eingestellt, ohne Änderungen sofort gut bespielbar.
