usable, even for an acoustic guitar

got it for an acoustic guitar, with only one strap pin on the bottom and reverse-fixed it on. surprisingly, it fits very well.

the belt with the holes goes on the bottom and on the other side, the small piece of leather passes 4 times around the head, under the strings, and ties it nicely. lastly, i switched the pad on the other piece of belt and used something long, sharp and slim to drill new holes.

build-quality is there, i encourage you to get creative with it.

I bought this because with the strap mounted to the fitted pin on the heel of the violin bass I find that the instrument rolls forward.

This strap definitely helps alleviate this problem as it hangs the bass from a more forward position with a much better balance.

Whilst the strap is extremely well made I shall never use it, simply because the underside of the leather is extremely rough and it would be like wrapping a piece of coarse sandpaper around the body and would cause damage to the finish. Also, the metal parts will rub on the bass at the tail-piece end and cause damage.

So, this strap, whilst very well constructed, for me will be consigned to a cupboard and never used, but it has given me the idea to make my own, using it as a template, but using a much softer leather.

Not the most comfortable but a perfect fit for vintage Höfners.

This is a vintage style Höfner strap that will fit a vintage (or German re-issue) Höfner Violin without the need for an extra strap button at the neck heel.

It'a a very thin strap and not the most comfortable by modern standards. But if you don't want to drill a hole for an additional strap button in your Höfner this is the strap you'll need.

Apart from being a bit thin the quality is top notch.

Of course, some of the cheaper Asian Höfners already have a strap button at the neck heel so there's no need for this strap. If you've got one of those Höfners you will probably be better off with a more comfortable, modern guitar strap.

Highly recommended if you want to keep your Höfner historically correct.

Hofner bass strap

Bought this to go with my Hofner CT Violin bass as I wanted old school looks to go with the old school sound of the bass.

The strap is very comfortable, easily adjustable and looks and feels fantastic, quality of the material is also very good and the strap is very sturdy and secure. Really looks the part on the Violin bass.
