So I’ve been using the select jazz 2m for along time till the organic ones arrived. I bought 4 packs and I was a bit disappointed.
1. The carton case is not in my liking since it is not flat as the plastic ones. I don’t know if it impacts the structure of the reed in any way but I suppose that the reed is not going to stay flat inside it.
2. The reed itself has changed. It definitely sounds the same in the low registry but when in the high registry I feel that the reed is really soft.
3. After an hour of practicing and playing the reed gets altogether soft and a bit unresponsive.
4. Out of the 4 packs on full pack had totally inconsistent reeds with one failing the moment I played it for the first time. It became torn. Another reed was already torn. That’s just luck though.
