Cheap and fantastic

I bought this based on the reviews here on Thomann.
This may well be the best purchase I have made recently.
Compared to the Shure and Sennheiser equivalent.
Used as kick drum mic for a heavy metal band, didn’t need the additional kick out mic at all.
Used as mic inside classic full size harp combined with small additional condenser mic aimed at strings at playiing height with fantastic result for a live performance through the local PA system.
Inside an upright piano : same excellent result.
Used as ambience mic for inears taped to the stage floor : no complaints.
Very sturdy built, I accidentally stepped on it ( and dropped it once) ‘with no damage at all.
The inlay in the box can be used to secure the position inside the kickdrum.
Very impressed for live situations.
I have not used it for recordings yet so cannot comment on this.
Higly recommended.

Ίσως το καλύτερο μικρόφωνο κασας για ροκ και μέταλ. Έχω και το beta91 αλλά με αυτό το eq είναι πολύ πιο εύκολο. Το μόνο παράπονο είναι ότι χρειάζεται το καλώδιο xlr να κουμπώνει σφιχτά και πάντα το ασφαλίζω με gaffer γιατί χάνει εύκολα επαφή και λόγω του phantom power ακούγεται σαν καμμένο το σήμα.

Having used the Shure version of this mic when sound engineering an acoustic band where it was used on a Cajon, I thought I would try this cheaper version out. Tried it out for a number of weeks in a Cajon at a busy buskers night, I found it virtually impossible to eq a good sound, I tried all sorts of options, including the onboard flat and scooped settings, using a digital mixer, the eq for the Cajon was the most rediculous setting possible, all bass had to be rolled of,, 2k Hz upwards was increased significantly to get anywhere near what the Cajon need to sound like, then I got hit with feedback due to the rediculous eq. Others might be able to tame this on a Cajon, but for me it was a disaster.

It's a bass drum mic

Captures exactly the sound I was looking for from my bass drum.
Punch, clarity and roundness. That, combined with a decent outer mic and a good preamp, means I have found my bass drum go-to :-)
