Excellent Alexander 103 copy at a great price

This horn is a remarkable bargain. It sounds remarkably close in sound to an original 103 without perhaps the unique singing quality. It is also slightly heavier. It has excellent intonation and a secure and open top register. The f-side and middle register are also very solid.The quality of the workmanship and finish is excellent - so far the valves operate smoothly and quickly and the lacquer is unblemished.

After my Alexander 103 finally gave up the ghost after 50 years of playing….. being an older player I could not justify the expense of a new horn. I have used thomann for instruments for my young pupils over many years. I visited the site just on the off chance that they had a replacement. I was pleasantly surprised to a very good facsimile of my old instrument. In short the instrument arrived….. my first impression was that it was beautifully built to a very high standard. It plays smoothly and all the notes are in the right place. This is a real bargain with quality! I will report further when it is blown in. Thank you Thomann for making a very mature man very happy.

Very good quality-price relationship

Very good sound in severe sound range, either low and high notes. Very stable sound.
I think it's better tan my old Yamaha.
Only two things: I don't know how it will get older and the rotor valves return slowly than many pieces demand.
But it has overpassed my espectations.

Ich bin hellauf begeistert!

Gestern habe ich das Horn bekommen, also eine Langzeitbewertung ist noch nicht möglich, so wie ich das aber sehe ist das Horn wirklich gut. Daher muss ich sofort eine Bewertung abgeben, super Ansprache, schaut schick aus, das Logo sieht man kaum, Koffer ebenfalls gut. Wenn ich ehrlich bin hatte ich schon so meine Bedenken, weil ich dachte im Vergleich zu anderen Hörnern ist das viel zu billig, das kann nicht gut gehen, aber es ging gut. Ich bin froh, dass hier schon Bewertungen abgegeben wurden, leider nur zwei vor mir, diese Rezensionen sowie meine bisher positiven Erfahrungen mit Thomann haben mich dann dazu bewogen es zu bestellen, und ich werde es nicht zurückschicken. Mein altes Horn das vor 25 Jahren über 4000 DM kostete ist lang nicht so gut.
Nachtrag: Ich spiele das Horn nun seit 2 Jahren, immernoch begeistert es mich. Wichtig: Immer schön Öl in die Maschine, dann läuft diese tadellos. Das ist aber immer wichtig, egal was für ein Horn man spielt. so denke ich zumindest.
