internal breaks after 1 year
Made a few cables for guitar with and after a year, and a very cool year because of corona (i think the cables only went 10 times to gigs) they just break inside. i tested them and found the break point in the middle of the cable, no traces of violence or anything, just broke.
The inner cable is way to thin for use on scene.
I contacted thomann and no warranty was possible so i really wont buy this again !
I've made several cables with "the spirit XXL" and they are bulletproof, almost 10 years and they are still there, the inner cable is much more robust, i recomende those

Continuity across both leads from the get-go...
I always test for continuity on the cables I plan to solder plugs onto. And with this one, there was continuity across both wires inside from the get-go i.e. before I soldered jacks onto it.
I tried trimming off around 10 cm in each end, that didn't help. Then I tried to trim some more off in each end, this was no success either. After this I just gave up the cable.
I bet, that if you get a length of cable that isn't broken, you'll be happy with it, because it actually feels really nice!

Best intrument cables
I was searching for something different for my new pedalboard and I needed to make a lot of patch cables. Then I saw on Thomann.de that Hicon plugs are being sold solded with Sommer Cables. So for the first time I bought Sommer cable instead of usuall Mogami and or those 2 pack Planet Waves patch cables.
For the thick cable I assumed it will be hard to bend, but they are really great for patch cables, so easy to bend and signal is passing 100%.
From now on I am buying only Sommer cable......

This is an excellent quality cable. I am impressed of the look of it and the quality. Insulation of the center cord is very thick and the external insulation is partially transparent so nice copper wires can be slightly visible. What I also like about this cable is flexibility. Highly recommended!

Feels so nice!!
Absolutely love this cable! Paired it with some neutrik jacks and it works perfectly. It has good shielding and a great, clear sound. I use them in the studio and take them out with me wherever I am. Also, they are great live as they are very flexible so don't get in the way like other cables do! They also coil perfectly and feel great which is a big plus to me!!

Fantastic Cable
This cable is brilliant, it is easy to work with and the finish is also quite nice. The outer layer of the cable is a translucent black colour which hints at the shiny copper wire underneath. In addition this, the inside insulator that covers the second copper wire is easy to work with; being easy enough to cut through without damaging the copper.
However, one thing to watch out is the diameter of the cable itself, which is large than many of the other cables that were available. Luckily, this cable fit into the neutrik np2x jacks that I had ordered with it.
Overall, this is a good cable for most uses.

Usual high quality Sommer cable. This stuff is extremely flexible for this type of cable, and the new Zilk jacket is just fantastic. Highly Recommended
